Rico viglianti
co-owner | Head Coach
Rico (UK) is co-owner and head coach of the gym. Listing his hobbies as… CrossFit Tay Ho, Rico has spent the last 7 years committed to building out his vision of creating more than just a fitness space— but a connected community that supports, motivates and celebrates each other.
Rico stepped into his local Crossfit box in 2015. Very quickly, he found himself fully immersed in the sport, the lifestyle and the community. Ignited by his experience, he committed to his CFL1 in 2017 and gym ownership in 2018 in the hopes of lighting that same fire in others.
To Rico, training is about more than just the workout—it’s about enjoying the journey of building strength, grit, and resilience. It’s about committing to showing up (even on the hard days) not only for yourself but also for those who count on you. The discipline you forge in the gym ripples outward, uplifting your family, friends, and your community.
When he isn’t wearing his CFTH cap, he’s filling his belly with good food, good coffee or the occasional cold beer. Otherwise, he’s endlessly browsing music and curating playlists for every mood and occasion.

lindsey bean
Lindsey is the longest-running member here at CrossFit Tay Ho, having joined soon after moving to Hanoi from Bangkok in February 2016. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Lindsey has lived in Asia for over 11 years. She earned her level 1 CF coaching certification in the summer of 2023 and has been coaching at CrossFit Tay Ho ever since. Still a regular member of the 9am crew, she spends almost every morning here either coaching or sweating it out on the WOD floor.
Upon moving to Hanoi, Lindsey felt an immediate connection to the CrossFit Tay Ho community and has never left! Its impressive diversity (nationality, age, race, ability) and warm family-like vibes are what have kept her coming back year after year. Before class, you’ll always see Lindsey chatting with members and drop-ins alike - making everyone feel welcome and at home.
Spending time with her family - husband and two daughters - takes up most of her “free” time. During the week, when not at CrossFit, Lindsey runs her professional organizing business working with both businesses and families in Hanoi. She loves cooking and entertaining, as long as she’s able to curl up with a good book by 9pm! Traveling throughout the region has been a definite bonus of living in Hanoi - scuba diving with her family in Fiji this past year was a major highlight!
Coach
alexis lavoie-label
Coach
Alexis is the newest member of our coaching team at CrossFit Tay Ho. Originally from Canada, he joined CFTH as a member after moving to Hanoi in 2023. When a coaching position opened up, he jumped at the opportunity to get involved.
Alexis is passionate about creating a safe and enjoyable environment where members feel comfortable enough to push their boundaries, improve their skills, and have fun. His approach to coaching is deeply rooted in continuous learning, which he believes not only benefits members but also enhances his own skills as an athlete and coach.
Alexis is a creature of routine and enjoys the stability and comfort that familiarity brings. When not in the gym, Alexis is a swimmer, enjoys reading and watching documentaries, and spending time with his adorable one-eyed, three-toothed puppy. He often appears serious but don't let that fool you; he's much more approachable and lighthearted once you get to know him!
